Program Overview
In the fall of 2003, voters in the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District approved a $142,415,000 Bond Package. The average age of school buildings in the Lamar CISD is 27 years with 9 buildings over 40 years old. The Bond Program was developed to renovate and improve many of these buildings as well as provide 2 new elementary schools to ease overcrowding certain areas of the district.
The School District elected to utilize Program Management Services for several key reasons. Programs of this magnitude, especially with the amount of renovation work, demand significant attention and professional expertise in maintaining cost, quality and schedule control.
The program includes 2 new elementary schools, additions and renovations to 5 schools and renovations to 15 schools and other school district facilities.
The projects will begin construction the summer of 2004 and be complete by the summer of 2007.
